Double Page Spread

Every week is shark week for Walter Ostlie and Bob Frantz of "Metalshark Bro"! This comic (co-written by Frantz and Kevin Cuffe) is a joyful, insane romp about a laid back shark forced to do the dirty work of Satan's nephew so he can just get back to his life in the sea. These two bring just as much fun and electricity to the conversation as they discuss everything from what type of hat a flying eyeball would wear, to which Jack Nicholson character GI Joe's "Shipwreck" is based on, and ponder if Jabberjaw was really a good drummer. You can donate now to the kickstarter for Metalshark Bro vol. 2 at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/637571649/metalshark-bro

Dave Jordan and Marie Enger are friends, collaborators and indie comic life goals. Jordan has tackled existential superheroes in "Sadman", hardboiled cats in "Mitts", a tribute to Jack Kirby with "Valk" and the everyday ennui in "Where do we go From Here?" Enger is coming off a recent kickstarter success for the occult western inspired RPG zine, "Casket Land", in addition to a love of monsters in the road story "Fhtagn and Loathing". Together they have an eclectic energy and love for horror, punk rock and storytelling that shines through this conversation. Wherever you fall on the "vampire vs. werewolf" debate, you should enjoy this episode.

In this episode, Wendi has a very candid and outspoken conversation with the "Viceroy of Canadian Comics", Richard Pace. He and writer Mark Russell are the co-creators of "Second Coming", a political satire comic about Jesus Christ living with a superhero. Originally to be released through DC's Vertigo imprint, it was dropped and will now be put out by Ahoy Comics. Pace discusses the outrage surrounding the book, working on "Pitt" and being part of the 90s Image era, a different insight of the speculator market of the time and what is wrong with the "Game of Thrones" fandom.

This episode opens with a quick report from C2E2 at the Source Point Press booth to talk to horror core rap duo, Twiztid, about their comic "Twiztid: Haunted High Ons". Jamie Madrox and Monoxide star as fake ghost hunters in this horror comedy written by Dirk Manning.

Then Wendi sits down with Stephan Nilson, writer of "Agent 1.22" from DPM Publishing- an epic sci fi drama of a sexy cyborg, working for a mysterious agency and trying to realize her own shadowy history. He is also the publishing operations manager at Aftershock Comics and has some insight into their current popular books like "Dark Ark", "Alters", "Babyteeth", and "Knights Temporal".

Aaron Conley is the penciller on Skottie Young's popular Image comic, "Bully Wars", a story depicting the vengeful competition at one high school to become the head menace.
